Présentation of the GPO

Grand Prix Open Karting FFSA in a few words…
What are the Grand Prix Open Karting FFSA events?

The Grand Prix Open events place themselves in the continuity of the GPOs 2009. They are now directly organised by the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA).

Now, the GPO is a well-oiled organisation that focuses on Drivers and Teams and that wishes to convey - through high-level karting events - the image of karting as a truly exceptional sport.

Five meetings, i.e. 10 Grand Prix, will be held in France from May to October 2010. GPOs are part of the official CIK-FIA (Commission Internationale de Karting) under the sports authority of the FFSA. They will gather the best French and foreign drivers, who will race according to a dynamic racing scheme (one race on Saturday and one race on Sunday), similar to the mechanism now very often adopted in car racing (F3 Euroseries, WTCC, etc.).

The GPOs will host the following three categories: KF2, KF3, KZ2.

The GPOs will award, in each single category and via the FFSA, the official titles of French Champions, to drivers as well as to chassis constructors (see regulations).

At each meeting, the GPOs will also host an additional federal event: French Championship for the "Nationale" category and French Cups for Minime/Cadet, Rotax, Rotax Master, X30, and X30 Gentleman categories.

How to register for the events?

Priority is given to drivers who wish to register for the whole Championship (i.e. 5 meetings).

In each category, if the number of drivers who have registered for the whole Championship is lower than the organisation capacity of the GPOs, other drivers will be allowed to register on a "single race" basis. In any case, the maximum number of authorised drivers will be 72 for the KF2, KF3 and KZ2 categories.

Drivers can register directly online, at the GPO Website.

Registration fees can be paid as follows: by secure bank card (carte bancaire) (Banque Populaire), by money transfer (virement) and for French drivers and/or teams only, by cheque (at least 30 days before the relevant meeting).

Upon registration, after payment has been received and confirmed, each driver or team will receive an invoice by e-mail.

Who are the GPO organisers?

This year GPOs are organised directly by the FFSA, in cooperation with its operator TKC.

FFSA will do its best to give each of all competitors the opportunity to experience unique moments in an atmosphere of respect, friendship and sportsmanship.
